I was recently asked to create a poster to help promote the newly released font by Decade Typefoundry called Basingstoke that was based on the classic style of vintage ephemeras and specifically by the Sanborn Insurance Maps. A priest asked this person “do you know what the shortest prayer in the world is?” and he said it is those two words.  It is a statement we make when contemplation just go out the window, and we just do it. I’ve been admiring the works of artists like Luca Barcellona, and recently Jackson Alves and Andrei Robu with their calligraphic exploration so I told myself these two words, and give it a go. Bought myself a couple of calligraphic pens, and I’ve just been practicing ever since
